Androgynous speech is becoming more and more common.
One love, one race, and it’s all sacred space.
One race.
Think about it for a minute.
That’s one race without gender standing between us.
It’s possible and many live in an androgynous view of self and others. I have met a few. I am one. It takes making the we more important than the me. Until one can do that, it’s a pipe dream.
Words shape our view.
How we view anything is purely how we speak about it.
How purely do we speak of others when we limit then to a gender?
Yes, I know it’s hard. However it is rewarding for more than one. It’s a gift you give of your being. Giving that gift for everyone to be treated equally.
Think about that word for moment, equally.
-
in the same manner or to the same extent.“all children should be treated equally”
-
in amounts or parts that are the same in size.“the money can be divided equally between you”
-
in addition and having the same importance (used to introduce a further comment).“not all who live in inner cities are poor; equally, many poor people live outside inner cities
-
Speak equally to create true equality.
