I see trees of green
Red roses too
I see them bloom
For me and you
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world
I see skies of blue
And clouds of white
The bright blessed day
The dark sacred night
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world
The colors of the rainbow
So pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces
Of people going by
I see friends shaking hands
Saying, “How do you do?”
They’re really saying
I love you
I hear babies cry
I watch them grow
They’ll learn much more
Than I’ll ever know
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world
Yes, I think to myself
What a wonderful world
Ooh, yes
This was the world as Louis Armstrong saw it.
People seeing each other, not through screens, seeing each other.
When I ask “How are you?”
It’s not a social nicety. I genuinely give a shit about your being and being that I’m an Empath, I know how you’re doing and it’s why I asked.
I don’t talk to many people, if I talk to you, you’re special. You’re intelligent.
I love all of humanity, however, I like 5 or 6 of them.
Me taking time to ask you how you are doing, I couldn’t find a more loving way to allow you the opportunity to get it out.
It’s one way to say I love you.
Now, I’m not talking about romantic love, I’m not going to fuck anyone. I know this.
This is how we build a wonderful world. By asking how each other is, and listening. Then depending on what you hear, more words may in fact be needed.
Person to person.
Human to human.
That’s where we find our humanity, in each other.
